This Week: Housewives of New Jersey, Take Note — This Jersey Girl Has Power and Purpose

If only all “New Jersey housewives” had her qualities. Since took up paddling outrigger canoes a number of years back and then decided to get out and in her own way, make a difference for the oceans, raising awareness through her paddling. She’s paddled the East Coast, the Gulf Coast, and in 2010, the West Coast of the U.S. Paddling the coasts, especially the West Coast, is not for the faint-hearted, but she does it with a smile and has succeeded in inspiring us and building awareness among many. I caught up with Margo while she and her young son were shoveling snow – not the sidewalk in front of their home, but a public boat ramp so she could get her canoe into the icy water to train!

December 20, 2010: It’s the premiere of “The Ocean Doctor LIVE!” where YOU are the guest! We get a surprise visit from one of our past guests and talk oceans, coast-to-coast. Also: If I were a Great White, I wouldn’t eat you.

This Week: The Ocean Doctor LIVE! Broadcast

This Week's Guest is YOU!

The beauty of the fact that “The Ocean Doctor” is a podcast and not a live show is that, if you’ve missed past shows, you can easily catch up. But a pre-recorded show doesn’t lend itself well to being interactive, and that was the inspiration for “The Ocean Doctor LIVE!” Last week we had our first LIVE broadcast, but don’t worry if you missed it – you’ll be able to hear much of it in the show – it’s like a show within a show. We get a surprise visit from one of our past guests and talk oceans, coast-to-coast. Also: If I were a Great White, I wouldn’t eat you.

She has already completed such a journey across the Atlantic, and is using her adventures to raise awareness of environmental issues and inspire others to rise to their own challenges. Our friends at Blue Frontier Campaign, including its founder, David Helvarg, have been keenly engaged in Roz’s journey and working with Roz to make sure that her journey brings strong awareness about the oceans. (1planet1ocean president David E. Guggenheim is a member of Blue Frontier Campaign’s Advisory Council).
As a courtesy to Roz and her many fans around the world, 1planet1ocean has assembled a special tracking page to help you track and participate in Roz’s incredible journey. You’ll find an interactive Google map, and you can even track her adventures using Google Earth. The map has links to Roz’s photos and to her blog posts, which she is continuing to provide via satellite from sea. For more information, please be sure to visit Roz’s web site.
