Ocean Doctor: Restoring Our Oceans with Hands-On Conservation

Ocean Doctor is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Washington, DC, established in 2012 dedicated to protecting and restoring our oceans through hands-on conservation (Read our full history.)

Our Mission: Advance the conservation of the world’s oceans through scientific research, education and community engagement.

We work to advance economically- and environmentally-sustainable solutions for coastal communities that protect and sustain coral reef ecosystems.

Donations are tax-deductible in the U.S.

To fully appreciate the challenge and complexity of environmental issues and to really make a difference, there is no substitute for working locally, side-by-side with those who live there. “Hands-on conservation” gives us the experience, wisdom and humility to ensure our solutions are true and our voice is credible. And it invariably leads to friendships that last will last a lifetime. — David E. Guggenheim, Ph.D.
